Peter was born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He moved to New Orleans at the age of 25 to work as an animal trainer, and later attended Tulane where he got his master’s degree in public health.
Peter worked as a survey statistician for the United Nations World Food Programme for over a decade, living in places across the globe, including Haiti, Senegal, Italy, Mozambique, Afghanistan, and Laos. But he always returned home to New Orleans.
His primary area of artistic work is in fabric, focusing on quilts. He employs traditional quilt construction techniques using a variety of dyed fabrics. He’s fond of linen cloth and wool batting.
